Savannah Foster

Savannah grew up in a pet loving household that was never without a dog or two (and at one point three!) and she carried this fondness for animals into her adult life. While in junior high she discovered she also loved neurobiology or science of the brain. She was thrilled when she learned in college that she could combine her two passions — the love of dogs and the study of behavior — into a degree.

Savannah graduated from Michigan State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a concentration in Animal Behavior and Neurobiology.

During college Savannah volunteered at multiple animal shelters and humane societies in Michigan. When she moved back to Traverse City she worked at Cherryland Humane Society, where she was in charge of medications, and helped with the veterinary care. She was also in charge of adoptions and quickly learned the skill of reading dogs and how they would best match an adopter.

She graduated from Top Tier K9 Dog Trainer Academy as a Certified Pet Trainer in 2016 and began working at Great Lakes K9 Solutions in Leelanau County that same year. While there, she worked as a full-time trainer with the board and train dogs and also did one-on-one lessons with clients and their dogs.

Savannah is excited to share her passion with clients who are just as eager to learn how to communicate with their canine friends. She has two dogs of her own, Quill, an athletic British Labrador Retriever and Archie, a quirky Border Collie.
